Are any of you using VMware to create images with Microsoft Deployment or BDD? I've added all of the VMware SCSI drivers and LSI drivers to my sysprep.inf - and only with Windows XP images am I getting a 7B stop error. FYI- I can deploy reference and master Server 2003 images.  Have any of you deployed XP reference images within VMware ESX and what did you guys do to get it to work?

Thanks,

Mike Dzikowski

Not using ESX, but have come across this problem several times with Server..... Create your VM for your client and use IDE for the virtial disk. Then manually edit the VMX configuration file for this VM and change the SCSI.PRESENT value to FALSE.

For some reason that I am totally unable to fix, the SCSI drivers for VMWare simply do not work during deployment....

Yea, this worked if I used VMware Server and not ESX. If anyone uses ESX to create Windows XP Images...let me know how you create IDE drivers...

Thanks!

i use vmware too, to test MS deplpyment, and i also got an 7b bsod

i've solved this by slipstreaming chipset, and mass storage driverpacks into the image.
you can find those driverpacks @ www.driverpacks.net. you can also find an slipstream application over there.

goodluck with it ;)

I created a 2003 x86 server in vmware esx and now I would like to move it to a HP 480C blade.  I syspreped the image and captured to my deployment server.  Has anyone been able to deploy to the physical hardware with any issues.  The deployment wizard runs through and the once it reboots I see the server 2003 screen and then it just keeps rebooting.
